For the next two months, I am participating in a protective/low manipulation hair challenge with my natural hair group. I proposed the challenge to the women, and 18 of them signed up. The challenge begins today, and I actually like my style.
The purpose of a protective style is to protect your ends, and retain growth. I’m doing it for both of those reasons as well as to nurse my edges back to health. As I stated before, I was giving up puffs for a while because my edges were coming in the way that I wanted. This challenge will give me the boost I need to ensure healthy edges.
Here are some images of today’s style. The challenge calls for protective/low manipulation styles four out of the seven days of the week.
